Researcher receives prestigious honour from American Chemical Society

March 18, 2022

UBC Okanagan Assistant Professor Mohammad Arjmand is among 21 early-career researchers who are being recognized by the American Chemistry Society’s (ACS) Division of Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering (PMSE) as emerging leaders in the field. The recipients are early career scientists who have had a significant impact on the field of polymer science and engineering. Dr. Arjmand, who is also a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Advanced Materials and Polymer Engineering, investigates nanomaterials synthesis, polymer processing and forming, and development of multifunctional polymer nanocomposites with enhanced physical properties, such as electrical, mechanical, thermal, and electromagnetic interference shielding. He was the only researcher based in Canada recognized among the recipients of this year’s award.

The achievement will be celebrated at a special symposium at the ACS Fall 2022 Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, August 21-25, 2022.
