Principal’s Research Chair

Dr. Lisa Tobber holds the UBC Okanagan Principal’s Research Chair in Women in Engineering. In this role, she focuses on building and fostering initiatives related to the recruitment, retention, and future success of female students at UBC Okanagan’s School of Engineering. She develops and distributes best-practice frameworks for engagement and consultation with prospective and current students and faculty in engineering contexts.

Building upon her expertise in smart cities, a field that encompasses all disciplines of engineering, Dr. Tobber will develop a multi-faceted approach to expanding the on-going programs established by UBC, the School of Engineering, and Engineers Canada to increase the representation of women in engineering.
