ENGINEER YOUR DAY
The UBC Okanagan Engineering Open House Program lets you ‘Engineer Your Day’ to make sure you don’t miss out on any activities like presentations, the academic booth fair, demonstrations, and more! We are working on finalizing details for the event, and a schedule will be available closer to the event date.
Visit research labs, and hear from students about their UBC Okanagan experiences.
Lab tours will show you undergraduate and research labs. These will give more perspective about some of the research happening within UBC Okanagan Engineering and what types of labs an undergraduate student might experience.
Guests will be restricted to a single lab tour per person as there is limited availability. Please select only one Lab Tour and ensure you register yourself and anyone that may accompany you.
Student Design Teams
Student Design Team showcase and presentations will feature undergraduate students from a variety of Design Teams discussing their design projects in an interactive session. For students interested in joining a Design Team, hands-on extracurricular experience, competing nationally and internationally or working on a team, this is a great introduction to our Student Design Teams!
Student Design Team Presentations:
The Concrete Kitchen: Ever wonder what’s in the sidewalk you walk on? The bridges you drive over? Join the Concrete Kitchen to discover the history, ingredients, and science behind what makes the world’s most frequently used building material.
Racecar 101: What you need to know to build a racecar.
UBCO Aero Club:
Exploring Aerospace: This presentation will explore the various areas of aerospace, including fixed-wing and rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as rocketry! The UBCO Aerospace club will take you through some of our most recent designs and competition experience. We will also demo our heavy-lift quad and perform a scaled static test-fire of our 15ft hybrid rocket.
Learn more about the four program disciplines (civil, electrical, manufacturing, and mechanical) offered at UBC Okanagan through short / engaging talks hosted by School of Engineering research faculty.
Stepping foot on UBC’s Okanagan campus is the best way to experience life at a top 40 university and discover whether this is the right place for you. The UBC Okanagan Engineering Open House, led by our friendly and knowledgeable students, faculty and staff, will provide first-hand knowledge of everything our exciting campus has to offer!
