Civil Engineering – Carbon Capture Technology for Future Construction
In this lab, students will work with industry waste residues, soil and concrete. They develop waste to value-added materials for sustainable construction and environmental protection.
Computer Engineering – Why Does a Scratched Blu-Ray Disc Work?
In this lab, students will learn how Gigabits can be stored in a memory device or communicated over a wire without errors through cool mathematics tricks!
Electrical Engineering – Optics and fluidics, the very fast and the very small
In this lab, students work with micron-scale devices to measure contaminants in fluids and materials. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required.
Manufacturing Engineering – Cyber Physical Learning Factory
In this lab, there is a small-scale factory that mimics a cell phone assembly process. Students in our Manufacturing Engineering program use this factory to learn about and design automated systems. The factory contains state-of-the-art sensors and controller technology to prepare students to work in industries such as advanced manufacturing, food & beverage, automobile, and many others!
Mechanical Engineering – Engineering the Future of Medicine: Inside the Lab of Cutting-Edge Medical Device Development
In this lab, students integrate mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to address biological challenges. From design and fabrication to testing, every step is carried out in-house, driving the development of next-generation medical devices.
Civil Engineering Lab Tour
11:30am – 2:00pm – Self guided drop-in tour
Learn about current research that aims to develop innovative technology, design methods, and construction techniques which will facilitate the construction of greener structures that are resilient to natural disasters.
Students will also be showcasing samples from undergraduate courses. They will explain what types of testing was done on the samples, what courses this is performed in, and why these tests exist.
Makerspace Lab Tour
