Biography

Dr. Eikenaar teaches Communication in the School of Engineering at the Okanagan campus of the University of British Columbia.  He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia through interdisciplinary research focused on the influence of an author’s persona to the understanding of their literary works. Jannik also teaches in UBC’s Vantage College, previously taught at Okanagan College, and worked for several years in the publishing industry.

Jannik is an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Advisor in the School of Engineering and an active member of several UBC committees, including the Okanagan Senate and Aboriginal Initiatives Committees. He is also the Volleyball Regional Officials Chair for the province and coach of his daughter’s soccer team (U11 Girls).
