Research Summary
My research explores information fusion, data analytics, and predictive models in water resource management, with an emphasis on flood management and water basin simulations. I investigate digital water, Hydroinformatics, and extended reality technologies for watershed and urban stormwater management.
In a separate research area, I delve into digital learning technologies, concentrating on smart education systems and methodologies designed to enhance learning experiences in engineering education

Biography
Dr. Yousefi is a dedicated civil engineer and academic with over 15 years of experience, currently serving as a faculty member at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He joined the School of Engineering in January 2021 and teaches water resources management and engineering mechanics courses. Dr. Yousefi holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (Water Resources Management) from UBC, an MSc in Civil Engineering (Water Engineering) from the University of Tabriz, and a BSc in Civil Engineering (Structure) from Islamic Azad University.
His research emphasizes information fusion, data analytics, and predictive modeling in water resource management, with a focus on flood management and water basin simulations. Dr. Yousefi also explores digital water, hydroinformatics, and extended reality technologies for watershed and urban stormwater management. His work has been published in journals, books, and conference proceedings, covering topics like flood resilience, urban water consumption, surface water quality, and rainfall estimation.
Beyond water resources management and hydroinformatics, Dr. Yousefi investigates digital learning technologies, aiming to improve engineering education experiences through smart education systems and methodologies. Recognized with teaching awards and grants, he develops digital learning resources and tools. As an active member of CEEA, Dr. Yousefi champions equity, diversity, and inclusion in learning environments through his Educational Leadership projects
