When did you start with the School of Engineering? June 2014
What is your role (tasks)? My main role is to ensure the smooth operation of undergraduate labs & to provide technical support to Researchers. I manage a very experienced group of technicians, technologists, machinists & engineers which greatly facilitates my job.
Tell us a bit more about yourself I’m a francophone born & raised in the Niagara peninsula area. I grew up during the 60’s space race & was always interested in science & technology. I was fortunate enough to experience the technology revolution in the mid 70’s with the introduction of the microcomputer. After university, I worked on numerous advanced technology developments in both the private & public sectors. I am always up for the next big challenge & strongly believe in continuous learning.
Interesting fact Joint-owner of three patents (method of calibrating and operating an un-cooled avalanche photodiode optical receiver, method and apparatus for clock recovery and data qualification and field reconfigurable line cards for an optical transport system)
If you were to conduct your own engineering research, what would it be? Artificial Intelligence.
When not in the office, what are your hobbies? Astronomy, biking & hiking.
