The School of Engineering hosted this year’s second GoENG Girl event on Friday, February 17th.
Close to 100 middle school female students attended workshops throughout the day. These workshops covered topics such as coding, water treatment, soil, light and magnetism, and prosthetic heart valves.
In the afternoon participants made their own prosthetic hands from various supplies, while learning how the human hand functions.
UBCO Motorsports offered a workshop in the afternoon, sharing their journey to competition. Marie O’Brien also spoke about her research on autonomous vehicles.
This event is held annually at the School of Engineering.
