Associate Professors Shahria Alam and Solomon Tesfamariam, along with Samy M. Reza, were awarded the CSCE’s P.L. Pratley Award for 2014 for their paper titled “Performance comparison between direct displacement-based and force-based design of a multi-span continuous reinforced concrete bridge with irregular column heights” as published in the Canadian Journal for Civil Engineering, 2014-41, pgs. 440-449.
The Pratley Award recognizes the best paper published in the field of bridge engineering in Canada, and was presented at the Awards Banquet held during the CSCE Annual Conference in Regina, Sask.
